This Privacy Policy explains how Yukon DUI Lawyers (“we”, “us”) collects, uses and protects personal information on yukonduilawyers.com. We handle personal information in line with Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
1. Information we collect
- Contact and claim forms: your name, firm, role, email address, phone number, the listing you ask about, and anything you write in your message.
- Listing information: lawyer and firm details taken from public sources, or supplied by a firm when it claims its listing.
- Payments: Premium subscriptions are paid through Stripe. Stripe collects your card details directly; we receive only billing contact details and payment status.
- Technical information: your IP address, browser type and pages visited, collected by our web server and security tools to run and protect the site.
2. How we use it
- To answer your enquiry or verify and process a listing claim.
- To set up, bill and manage Premium subscriptions.
- To keep the directory accurate.
- To protect the site against spam, fraud and abuse.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use visitor information to refer clients to lawyers.
3. Visitors who contact a lawyer
When you call, email or visit a listed lawyer’s website, you are dealing with that lawyer directly. Their own privacy policy applies to what you share with them.
4. Who we share it with
We share personal information only with service providers who help us run the site, and only as needed:
- Stripe, for payment processing.
- Our web host, which stores the site and its data.
- Our email provider, to send and receive messages.
We may also disclose information where the law requires it.
5. Where your information is stored
We are based in the United States, and our host and service providers may store and process information in the United States or elsewhere outside Canada. Information stored outside Canada may be accessed by courts and authorities there under local law.
6. Cookies
The site uses cookies that are needed for it to work, such as keeping administrators signed in and protecting forms from spam. If we add analytics or other optional cookies, we will update this policy.
7. How long we keep it
We keep enquiry and claim records for as long as needed to answer them and to keep a record of listing changes, and billing records for as long as tax and accounting rules require.
8. Your choices and rights
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it where we are not required to keep it. Firms can ask us to remove their listing at any time. Email info@yukonduilawyers.com and we will respond within 30 days.
9. Security
We use reasonable safeguards, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), restricted administrator access and a payment processor that meets card-industry security standards. No system is perfectly secure.
10. Changes and contact
We may update this policy, and the date at the top shows the latest version. Questions or requests: info@yukonduilawyers.com.
